Elis Regina nearly died on 10 December 1965, a Friday. Here's how it happened as she told magazine Intervalo - 26 December 1965.

Elis Regina tells Intervalo about her health problems in 1966.
1st April 1965 - Elis Regina gets the 1st Prize at TV Excelsior's Music Festival with 'Arrastão' written by Edu Lobo & Vinicius de Moraes. From a complete unknown Elis becomes a celebrity overnight.

Elis Regina was known for not thinking twice in expressing her views about anything: here at Intervalo TV guide she claims 'rock'n'roll is trash' pitting herself against major entertainer Roberto Carlos who she incidentally posed together for an article at the same magazine some time before.
